Kent... and the wonders of Facebook
The 9th of december i went to see Kent, my favorite swedish band, here in Copenhagen.Kent has definitely a special place in my life. If i were to make a soundtrack of my lovely days in Stockholm, for sure it would feature a lot of their songs. Sometimes i listen to Socker, Pärlor or Sundance Kid, and it feels like time didnt pass, and im still hanging around at my apartment in Karlaplan.
Its the second time i see them and they have not let me down. The concert was really cool and the atmosphere was great -even when, as usual, i missed some of my good old favorites-.
I had not had the time to become familiar with the new album, but it was excellent to have the chance to listen to it live. I think they have 'evolved', they definitely dont sound like the Kent i knew some years ago, but i admire a band dares to develop :)
An interesting thing about this concert, is how i got the tickets.
It turns out that sometimes Facebook does more wonders than i thought. First of all, i got to hear about Kents concert for the first time, when it was too late, i.e. tickets were sold out.
Some weeks later, i joined a Facebook group for concert lovers in Copenhagen, where i found a guy selling 2 tickets to Kent for the 8th of december. Obviously i contacted him and agreed to buy the tickets immediately. But smart as i am, i forgot that we were hosting a julefrokost that night, so it was impossible to go to the concert.
But hey, apart from smart, im also lucky, cause through Facebook again, i managed to find someone interested in exchanging tickets for the 9th, so everything was under control.
The funny thing was that the guy selling me the tickets was in Linköping and the girl who wanted to exchange the tickets was in Stockholm. Of course in the end, everything worked out perfect and i got to see Kent on the 9th, just like i wanted.
Morale of the story: The word is a small place.
