Panoramas

Yesterday i was able to have a break before it got dark and i used my time to walk around downtown in San Luis Potosi. Approximately 1 million people live here in an area of 1400km2 and there are something like 24 churches or chapels! Absolutely crazy!

Anyway, i very much wanted to find a good spot to shoot a panoramic picture (since im really pro when it comes to photography) so i spent most of my time looking for a high place, unfortunately, although i even paid the entrance of a museum that looked 'promising' and i had to ask for permission to go to the roof in a restaurant/bar, i didnt find a good spot!

When i came back to my hotel, which happens to be called Panorama, it suddenly 'hit me'.. by any chance would the name have any connection with a place having a good view?? While i was reflecting about that in the elevator, i noticed there is a floor called Sky so i decided to give it a go.. (you know, living on the edge!) I passed on my stop and continued all the way to the Sky floor and big surprise (or not)... theres a greaaat view of the city!

Of course, as usual, Murphy is messing with me cause when i finally found a nice spot it was too dark.. but tomorrow is the day, i gotta go upstairs again and shoot a San Luis Panorama :)

Ok, now that probably expectations have gone to the top.. stay tuned for that picture, i bet it will blow your mind!

Only 93% left...

I keep bumping into this world map whenever i check out other people's blogs and since im very original, i had to have mine!

It is kinda embarrassing though, cause as you can probably see, im not much of a globetrotter (why do we need money ALSO for that?!). According to this site calculations, I have put my foot in only 7% of the world (17 countries)*, ergo, its official: i still have a looot of places to go to so if you ever feel like contributing to my cause by a sponsored invitation to crash your floor, just let me know!

* The good or bad thing about this map is that even if you have only been to one city in a country, it marks the whole territory, so that 7% of the world is in fact an overestimation.. but well at least it looks like im the Master of North America :p

High Fidelity

I just finished reading this cool book and the first thing that comes to my mind is: Im glad i never managed to see the movie before cause that would have probably spoiled the reading -assuming i would have decided to also read the book after watching the movie, which i doubt, of course-.

High Fidelity is mainly about music and love; but also about breakups and sex, loneliness and adulthood, fantasies and real life.

I devoured all 320 pages in less than 2 weeks and now i feel more confident about my knowledge on guys and their twisted minds.. Ha! We are interesting, amusing and complicated creatures! Guys and Girls. No exception. Big discovery.

I really enjoyed getting inside Rob Fleming's (the main character) head and trying to see things through his perspective.. its kinda funny that even when Rob was very far from being the guy of anyone's dreams (actually he was a bit freaky) he still won my sympathy, at moments i so much got him and i recognized myself in some of his thoughts! (Crap, i guess that makes me freaky too!)

The story is told in a real and humorous way and i found myself smiling many times even when the plot is not a comedy per se. Theres no cheesiness, no happy endings, no heros... just the way we like it eh?

The countdown has started..

and i have 3 months to get a spectacular body! Alright, im pushing it... i have 3 months to be hmmm 'in shape' or something.. ok, you get the idea eh?

After a 4 months little break, yesterday night i FINALLY went back to the gym!! Woohoo! :) Today im all sore of course and i feel good about it! Its not like im into masochism but its definitely a 'pain' to be proud of..

It really takes a lot of will from me to feel like going to a weight lifting session and a spinning class when i finish work, even when i know i will feel great right after ive done it (hmm to be honest, more like a couple of hours later cause right after im still suffocated but well..) I know it will become better after a couple of weeks and even better when i start to see some small results at least..

May the world be prepared for the new me around April or so! :p

I have a crush..

on this wonderful song:

You'd be surprised if you looked through the eyes of a nova
not recognizing the molehills on top of the star
cheerful and swollen he waves from his seat in a rover
that is his car

you wouldn't doubt him to shake the most powerful hands of importance
changing the world as we know it by leaving his ink
to judge from the fence 'round his house he must love all his children
that's what you think

but there's no time to think
have a pill and a shrink
just don't show us how you sweat
making love to your kids
is the last love that you will ever get
you're a vanishing image of what I thought I knew
but it comes to show
that the man I know -

is kissing that cheek that she had lifted up for her forty first birthday
love is when someone you trust cuts a smile in your face
boy had a dog and poor girl had a stroke like an earthquake
now dog is a bird

but there's no time to think
have a pill and a shrink
just don't show us how you sweat
making love to your kids
is the last love that you will ever get
you're a vanishing image of what i thought I knew
but it comes to show
that the man I know
has a fading glow
in a white lampshade

tell me lampshade the truth did you cover his soul
did you protect all the horrible
I shall tear you apart so that everyone knows
what he's been carrying around

tell me lampshade what is it you're trying to hide
under your stinky old corduroy
I shall rip and be shattered by the shrapnel of light
that I've been choking on always

there's a dog barking close within the range of my ear
sounds like he wants to escape the chain
he would probably bite me to death if he could
but the chain lets me spit in his face

like the dog has a chain clinging tight to it's neck
this man is tied to his secrecy
I would like to have killed him off in this last verse
but instead I removed his lampshade

A New Year.. A New Post

2006 started while i was having a great night with my boyfriend and his friends, drinking champagne and watching fireworks at a nice balcony after a wonderful 3 course dinner prepared by Jonas himself (Im still in awe cause my cooking skills wouldnt even make it to the 'Basic' level!)...

6 hours after 2006 had officially begun.. i was at the airport saying good bye to my guy and thats when the fun was over...

But this is sort of a half empty or half full glass thing yeah? And i think this time, for my own peace of mind, i choose to see the glass half full. Im glad i started the new year together with Jonas and ill just let that be a good augury. Dont they say the way you start the year (even if its just a couple of hours) is a reflection of what the rest of it will be like.. or something like that at least! :p

It all started here..

Moving on...

Brian, hes sooo cool...

Jonas is HOT to go!

We also had our chance to shoot!...

Glimpses of the aftermath...
